Could You Benefit From Sound Dampening Insulation?

Today we removed and replaced some bad panel siding and while we were at it the customer wanted the original insulation replaced with sound dampening mineral wool. They live right by K-10 Hwy and the noise is pretty bad in their master bedroom. In the future we will replace the front window also in the master bedroom with a unit that has a high sound pollution rating.

I wasn't excited to find blown in cellulose insulation on this home. It's not what we typically see in original construction. It's great for retrofitting or topping off, but it has a tendency to settle over time. The top 12"-16" of the wall had no insulation coverage due to that settling.

We will be back Monday to cut in and install a skirt trim along the bottom of the panel siding to repair the damage from moisture wicking that is so common with this product. Then this house will be ready for paint and good to go for years to come!

If you're considering a paint job and need repairs before it can be done, get in touch with us! In a lot of cases you don't need new siding when repairs will do! Let us give you an honest assessment and a fair deal to get your home or business back on its feet!
